The questions that separate a provider who fits your life from one who fits their roster.
You are allowed to interview providers. Bring this list to your first meeting and take notes.
- Who exactly will support me, and will it be the same people each week?
- What happens when my regular worker is sick?
- What is your notice period for cancellations — both directions?
- What are your rates, and do you charge travel or non-face-to-face time?
- How do you match workers to interests, language and culture?
- What training do your workers have for my specific needs?
- How do I raise a complaint, and who reviews it?
- How much notice do I get before a rate change?
- What does exiting look like if this is not working?
Any provider who cannot answer the cancellation and complaints questions clearly is telling you something important.
