Mobile therapy

Clinicians come to your home, school, workplace or online — no waiting rooms, and assessments happen where the difficulty actually is.

Occupational therapy

Improved Daily Living — OT

Mobile OT for functional capacity assessments, daily living skills, equipment prescription and home modification recommendations.

Who it's for: Anyone working on independence at home, at school or at work.

What's included

  • Functional capacity assessments (FCA)
  • Assistive technology prescription and trials
  • Home modification recommendations and drawings
  • Sensory, routine and self-care strategies
  • Reports written for plan reassessment

Good to know: An OT report is the single most useful document at review time. Ask for goal-linked progress notes each year.

Physiotherapy and exercise physiology

Improved Daily Living — physio / EP

Movement, strength, pain and mobility programs delivered in your home, at the pool or in the community.

Who it's for: People with mobility, balance, pain or post-surgery goals.

What's included

  • Mobility and falls-risk assessment
  • Home exercise programs support workers can follow
  • Hydrotherapy and gym-based programs
  • Manual handling and transfer training for your team
  • Wheelchair and walking aid setup with your OT

Good to know: Ask for your program to be written for support workers too — daily practice beats a weekly session on its own.

Speech pathology

Improved Daily Living — speech

Communication and mealtime support, from first words to complex AAC devices and swallowing safety.

Who it's for: Children and adults with speech, language, literacy or swallowing needs.

What's included

  • Communication assessment and goal setting
  • AAC assessment, trial and device training
  • Mealtime management and dysphagia plans
  • Key word sign and communication partner training
  • School and workplace communication support

Good to know: Mealtime management plans are a Practice Standard requirement where swallowing risk exists — we build them with your nurse and support team.

Psychology and counselling

Improved Daily Living — psychology

Therapeutic support for wellbeing, adjustment, anxiety, trauma and behaviour, plus positive behaviour support planning.

Who it's for: Participants and families who want practical mental health and behaviour support.

What's included

  • Individual counselling at home or online
  • Positive behaviour support plans by a registered practitioner
  • Restrictive practice reduction strategies
  • Family and carer coaching
  • Support worker training on the plan

Good to know: Behaviour support plans must be lodged with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission when regulated restrictive practices are used.

Dietetics and nutrition

Improved Daily Living — dietetics

Practical nutrition plans for weight, diabetes, texture-modified diets, tube feeding and gut health.

Who it's for: Participants with nutrition, weight or mealtime goals and their support teams.

What's included

  • Nutrition assessment and simple meal plans
  • Texture-modified (IDDSI) diets with your speech pathologist
  • Enteral (PEG) feeding regimes
  • Shopping lists and recipes your workers can cook
  • Reviews as your needs change

Good to know: Nutrition supports pair well with community nursing when there are pressure injuries, diabetes or PEG feeding involved.

Community nursing and high intensity supports

Registered nurses lead the clinical care, train your support team and document delegation properly.

Community nursing care

Support category 12 — Nursing / High Intensity

Registered and enrolled nurses delivering clinical care in your home, coordinated with your GP and specialists.

Who it's for: Participants with clinical needs that require a qualified nurse.

What's included

  • Wound and pressure injury care
  • Continence and catheter management
  • Medication management and webster pack review
  • Diabetes support and blood glucose monitoring
  • Care plans, nursing assessments and GP liaison

Good to know: Nursing supports are claimed at a different rate to daily living. If a task needs delegation, we document it and train your workers.

High intensity daily personal activities

Support category 1 — High Intensity Daily Personal Activities

Complex personal care delivered by workers assessed against the NDIS High Intensity Support Skills Descriptors.

Who it's for: Participants needing PEG feeding, tracheostomy, ventilator, complex bowel care, epilepsy or subcutaneous injection support.

What's included

  • Enteral (PEG) feeding and management
  • Tracheostomy and ventilator support
  • Complex bowel care and urinary catheter support
  • Severe dysphagia and epilepsy management
  • Nurse-delegated tasks with documented competency

Good to know: High intensity supports must be supervised by a nurse with worker competency signed off — always ask a provider to show you their records.

How therapy funding works

Therapy sits in your Capacity Building budget, usually under Improved Daily Living. It cannot be moved into Core supports, so plan the year: how many assessment hours, how many therapy hours, and how many report-writing hours you want to spend.

Travel and report writing are claimable at the same hourly rate as the session. Ask any provider for a written service agreement that states how much of your budget goes to each, so there are no surprises in month nine.

For aged care clients, allied health is delivered through your Support at Home budget instead — same clinicians, different funding pathway.
